I'm sorry I was just having too much fun...

Apologies (again!) for the delay with the blogs. I know the Tall One has obliged and with the amount of rubbish we put on social media it's clear we're still rocking all over the world.

Currently in Sin City sipping a watermelon margarita, you must try one - simply divine darling!, missing the bins a bit!
Though the view from the pool is grand, 24 floors up certainly helps! It's bloody windy though!

Last night we went all out Vegas, woke up this morning with a sore head, a lighter purse and some blisters!
Took in a show, on the recommendation of my mate Sarah and the wonderfully lady Sara who hosted us in Austin we picked Cirque's Zarkana. Now, this was a tough call as Cirque De Soleil have 8/9 shows in Vegas including a Beatles one (as soon as it goes on tour I'm taking the Anstees) and one in water!
After extension YouTube research and nods from the ladies above we can safely say we made an incredible decision.
Sat with my mouth open for the majority of the show, the Tall One was Definately relieved to get a break from my constant yapping I'm sure!
Trapeze, contortions, juggling, acrobatics, comedy...when you're in Vegas, buy a ticket and see for yourself!
This show is at the Aria hotel and casino, a lucky place for us, the roulette treated us kindly for once!
Also, when ordering a large wine, don't be surprised when you get 3/4 of a bottle :)

Following this, a romantic stop at the Bellagio. All say awwww now.
the Tall One will provide video of the fountains, another quiet moment for me...
Some more drinks resulting in our best Justin Beiber impressions!

Now, we love Vegas, much like we love Christmas. If it happened more than once a year it would be too much. Though I could watch Cirque every night....

Now, following on from my last blog here's more things we think America is good/bad for...

Bad
- TV adverts. So much food and insurance and they're on ALL THE TIME
- TV schedules, the Grudge at 5pm?! Bleeping out your average swearwords and the word homo but allowing 'Camel Dick' at dinnertime...
- DONALD DRUMPF
- indoor smoking in Vegas, just nahhhhh
- the Greyhound
- tipping, everywhere.

Good
- supermarkets, filled with fresh deli bars, pasta bars and put-together-your-own-fresh-ready-meal bars!
- Free Zoos WITH PANDAS! And otters, and cheetahs, and lions and tigers and bears! Oh my!
- no measures (triple whiskey anyone?!)
- Neon lights
- free wifi pretty much everywhere
- breakfast potatoes
- cheap phone tariffs

Omni-mega-bus of Froomstee fun!

As I sit waiting for The Tall One to return with a tray of meat (because, 'Mercia), I can't help but wonder how such a massive country can have so many odd ways about it!

Firstly, odd things Britain NEEDS so far

- 4 hour long happy hours everywhere (sipping on a large $5 margarita right now!)
- 25p coins (quarters are awesome)
- gallon bottles of Iced Tea
- NHL
- gigantic beers
- big yellow taxis, obvious, safe and regulated (and you can pay on card)
- free museums (and the newseum, paid for but easily the best in the world!)
- Potbelly Sandwiches
- all day breakfast at McDs!

And the things America can keep so far

- toilets, doors that are up to your knees and have gaps in them! I've started waving at the other ladies as they walk by! Also, the loo flushes all by itself, what sorcery (sensors) is this?! I nearly fell in the first time!
- Donald Trump
- biscuits... They don't do biscuits like us...
- guns, duh!
- immigration officers, is it so hard to believe that we fell in love and decided to be bums for a while?!
- tipping, it's confusing and I always give too much! I do not remember percetages! Which is ironic based on my last job (sorry Donal!)

There will be plenty more of these lists I'm sure...

One thing I should share is the crazy patriotism, at the hockey last night they sang Star Spangled Banner sooooo loudly and knew every word! God Save The Queen has more than one verse?
Then, as if by magic, a bloke across the rink shouts "USA!" and the whole bloody place goes mental... Honestly could have been in a movie.

Top moment of last night though, watching a small (probably taller than me anyway) kid score a goal in front 20000 people. Couldn't have cheered louder if I tried! High fived the guy next to me as well didn't I!

Above I mention the Newseum, which would surely have got me a 1st in the bag at uni! If you're planning on getting into journalism, go here! Go here! Go here! It was great to be genuinely smug when the Tall One and I were reading the exhibits! Took us 2 days to get round it and I could have gone back for another just to see it all again! Cried a little at the 9/11 bit, haven't seen much of the footage in my adult years and now very impressed at how my parents dealt with it when Lu and I were kids. Very touching and totally better having the Tall One there to clean up my snotty face. Immediately after there's a small bit about presidential dogs so soon got cooing over some pups!

Also, saw Obama's motorcade sans dog, What did you do today?

Until next time,

Em

New job!?

Greetings,

So, recently The Tall One and I quit our jobs, packed our ridiculously heavy backpacks and swanned off to North America for a while.
We've been gone about a week or so and as we settle in to live on the Megabus we feel it's time to document what occurs!

The next post will be somewhat of an omnibus of our first few stops, and I will endeavour to keep this up (for once!), it's about time I put my degree to use!

You can find the somewhat loftier ramblings of The Tall One at olliefroomes.wordpress.com for a bit of a varied opinion, he also takes fantastic photos...

Ciao for now!
